Safety Screening of Food Additive Powders

What Are Food Additives?

Food additives are artificial chemicals or natural substances used to enhance food quality. They serve various purposes, such as improving color, taste, and texture, extending shelf life, facilitating food processing, storage, and transportation, and increasing nutritional content.

Common Types of Food Additives

  • Preservatives: Prevent food spoilage and extend shelf life.
  • Bleaching Agents: Improve the appearance of food.
  • Colorants: Enhance or add color to food.
  • Sweeteners: Provide sweetness with or without added calories.
  • Leavening Agents: Help baked goods rise and become fluffy.
  • Thickeners: Improve the texture and consistency of food.

These additives ensure that foods remain safe, appealing, and nutritious throughout their lifecycle.

We can provide the food industry with solutions that comply with GMP hygiene standards to ensure food safety.

How to solve screening problems in the food additives industry

Recently, a food additive supplier approached us to address issues in their production process. Their current equipment had insufficient throughput and suffered from mesh clogging. To enhance production and efficiency, the customer sought assistance from our professional screening experts.

We provided the customer with a new type vibrating screening machine that replaced their original equipment, significantly increasing the sieving throughput from 500 kg/h to 150 kg/min. To further address the mesh clogging issue, we equipped the new machine with an Vibrasonic Deblinding System, which prevents mesh blockages, further increases screening output, reduces mesh cleaning time, and extends the mesh’s service life.

Upon receiving our product, the customer quickly installed and began using it. They reported that it seamlessly integrated into their existing production system, ensured product quality, met food safety standards, and fulfilled their production requirements.

Food Additive Production Line Overview

After communicating with customers, we learned that the following production equipment will be used in the production process of food additives.

The production equipment mainly includes raw material storage, conveyor systems, batching equipment, cleaning systems, crushing machine, mixing and stirring equipment, finished product storage, screening machine, dust removal systems, drying machine, demagnetization systems, packaging systems, weighing equipment, chemical analysis instruments and other related equipment.

The production process for food additives is as follows:

Raw materials → unpacking (small bags, ton bags) → raw material pretreatment (crushing/screening/drying) → raw material storage (extraction/stirring/mixing) → batching system (stirring) → mixing system (mixing) → finished product storage (detection analysis/storage) → finished product packaging system (weighing/packaging) → finished product

This streamlined process ensures efficient production, maintains high product quality, and adheres to food safety standards.
